Upwork Job Tracker
Privacy Policy
Upwork Job Tracker is a local-first browser extension for saving and tracking Upwork job applications. This policy explains what data the extension uses, where it is stored, and why each permission is needed.
Data Collection
- Upwork Job Tracker does not require an account.
- Upwork Job Tracker does not collect, upload, sell, or share personal information.
- Upwork Job Tracker does not use analytics, telemetry, or remote tracking.
- Upwork Job Tracker does not read or upload Upwork account data, proposal content, messages, payment information, or browsing history.
Local Storage
The extension uses Chrome local storage to save job tracking records on the user's device. Saved records can include job title, job URL, application status, and created timestamp.
These records are used only to show the user's saved job list inside the extension popup. They remain in the user's browser and are not sent to an external server by the extension.
Network Requests
The extension does not depend on a custom server and does not send saved job records to third-party services. It reads the current Upwork page structure in the browser to identify the job title and URL when the user chooses to save a job.
Permissions
- storage: saves the local job list and status values in the user's browser.
- activeTab: lets the extension access the current active tab after the user clicks Save Job.
- scripting: runs bundled extraction logic on the current Upwork tab after the user clicks Save Job.
- https://www.upwork.com/*: limits extension page extraction to Upwork web pages.
Landing Page Email List
The product landing page may collect an email address when a visitor joins the update list. That email is used for product updates and feedback requests.
The extension itself does not require an email address and does not connect saved job records to the landing page email list.
